Review of The Engagement Plot

Review of The Engagement Plot

The Engagement Plot is a fun, vivid, light, airy, romantic, splendid and often hysterical ride through the adventures or should I say misadventures of Hanna and William. And boy did their love story begin as a misadventure.

The Engagement Plot is Krista Phillips at her Christian romantic comedy best. I worried as I began the advanced reader copy of this book because I am not a fan of reality show romances and Hanna and William begin their story on show similar to those. But my fears were quickly put to ease when I began to fall in love with both of the main characters.

Hanna and William’s reality tv love story did not have a fairy tale ending. In fact, it exploded on national TV and leaving Hanna with a broken heart and William desperate to repair the damage. And it is here we begin our story. In the midst of their TV scandal, an even worse media scandal erupts and the plot begins to fool the media and maybe regain some of their reputations. But will their plot give back more?

The character development is strong among the small cast of characters. Each of them had moments where I found myself feeling what they might feel in the moment. Hanna especially is delightful and quirky in the most fantastic way.

The Engagement Plot is a fun read. It would a great gift for the holidays.
